Four and a half years after its first install, the Times Square BID added new CITIBIN units with updated features.

The Problem

Times Square was CITIBIN’s first Business Improvement District client and its testing ground for adapting our residential product for municipal use. The original units had our standard residential cladding, basic padlocks, no top doors, and front doors that needed to be opened individually.

The Solution

The newest installation adds two units, eight modules in all, with push-button front and top doors, a branded vinyl wrap, and a dual-door feature where one code opens 2 doors. CITIBIN estimates it cuts service time by roughly half. As of October 2026, the district has grown from a single four-module unit in 2022 to ten locations and 56 modules.
