For Homes and Cities Alike

Trash in front of a home piles up the same way it does on a commercial block, with bags left out too long, bins without a fixed place, and a curb that ends up looking worse than it should. CITIBIN enclosures address that in both settings using the same underlying construction, with a few details that change depending on where the enclosure is installed.

What they have in common

Every CITIBIN is built from powder-coated sheet aluminum that resists rust, with corrosion-resistant stainless steel hardware. The aluminum cabinet is sealed and designed to help keep rodents out, and it is the same whether the enclosure sits outside a brownstone or on a busy commercial block.

The top doors on both use slow-closing hydraulic arms, so a door closes smoothly after a resident or a collection crew has used it, and the enclosure stays secured the rest of the time. Both can also add greenery, with a top that has a built-in planter.

Where they differ

Siding

Residential enclosures typically use bamboo composite panels. Its warm, natural finish sits well next to brick and painted wood, matching the facade of the home.

Municipal enclosures usually use branded vinyl wraps. Cities, parks, and Business Improvement Districts use them to add logos and colors, identifying each unit by location or program. Adding a QR code is the perfect way to showcase community announcements and any BID message you wish to share.

Locks

Residential enclosures use padlocks and keyed locks. Municipal enclosures offer more options, including push-button locks on the top and front doors as well as padlocks.

Location

Residential enclosures sit directly at the home, usually near the front steps or along the building's facade.

Municipal enclosures are installed on commercial streets, in parks, and across other public spaces where trash consolidation matters most.

The same design, adapted to each setting

The structural materials don't change between a residential and a municipal installation, as the powder-coated aluminum cabinet, the stainless steel hardware, and the sealed compartment are consistent across both. What changes is the siding, the lock mechanism, and where the unit sits.
